It is a privilege to lead Watton at Stone Primary and Nursery School. As Headteacher for six successful years, my vision is built upon a foundation of 30 years in education, with the unwavering mission of ensuring every child makes good, sustainable progress—both academically and personally. My extensive experience, which includes 16 years in senior leadership roles, provides the comprehensive insight needed to foster an environment of academic excellence and nurture for all our children.
My career began after studying at Westminster College in Oxford. My five formative years were spent teaching Early Years and Key Stage 1 in a primary school in Welwyn Garden City. This foundational experience—focused on the very start of a child's learning journey—is central to the holistic approach we take here at Watton at Stone.
The next two decades were crucial in developing my leadership philosophy. My time at The Leys Primary School in Stevenage included starting as a class teacher and team leader, and gaining particular insight into student well-being and development across the key stages. This culminated in ten years in senior leadership at that school, serving as both Assistant and Deputy Headteacher.
This extensive journey gives me the breadth of experience and knowledge required to guide Watton at Stone Primary and Nursery School with clarity and ambition. We look forward to continuing to build on our successes together!
